77-year-old woman is dead after her vehicle flipped and caught fire on
westbound I-275 Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened just before 2 p.m. Wednesday near Three Mile
Officers say the vehicle was heading westbound on the highway when
it struck a guardrail. Authorities say the vehicle drove through the median and
off the overpass onto Three Mile Road.

The driver, identified as 77-year-old Shirley Jones, was
unconscious upon arrival. Witnesses and police say they were able to pull the
woman out of the vehicle.
was transported to St. Elizabeth Fort Thomas Hospital with critical injuries. She
died in the hospital on Wednesday night.
