One person injured after overnight fire in Carthage

CARTHAGE, OH (FOX19) - Emergency crews were called to a One-Alarm structure fire that occurred in the Carthage neighborhood of Cincinnati at 3:36 am. Saturday, March 1.

Upon arrival, fire companies reported a working fire in the basement of a 1 and a half story,

single family dwelling.

First-in fire companies initiated an aggressive interior attack and extinguished the bulk of the fire within 10 minutes.

One victim was treated and transported via a Cincinnati Fire Department paramedic ambulance that was on the scene.

The victim was transported to UC Hospital with non-life threatening burns.

Damage is estimated at $30,000.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Cincinnati Fire Department Investigative Unit.

Thirty-four firefighters were utilized at this incident. There was one civilian injury and no

firefighter injuries.
