CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - How could an Iditarod, a sled dog race run in snowy Alaska, be duplicated in Cincinnati? With shopping carts instead of dogs, of course.
The Cinciditarod was run today in downtown Cincinnati. Five-person teams began at Fountain Square and raced to five checkpoints around the city all while remaining physically attached to a shopping cart.
Many of the 40 teams were dressed in costume and coordinated themes. One team of men adopted a Miley Cyrus-theme, with Miley outfits and even their own wrecking ball. Another team wore all prison uniforms and chained themselves to the shopping cart.
3CDC organized the event to benefit the Freestore Foodbank.
