MILFORD TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Emergency crews were called to the train track crossing on Hamilton-Eaton road, near the Harris Road intersection in Milford Township, shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, for a reported train/vehicle crash.

The preliminary report indicates that Johnny Robbins, 38-years-old, was traveling northbound on Hamilton-Eaton Road when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, crossed left of center and struck a guardrail off the left side of the roadway.

After striking the guardrail, the vehicle spun completely around and came to rest across the train tracks, just as a north-bound Norfolk and Southern train was approaching.

The train struck the vehicle and pushed it along the tracks for approximately 1,600 feet before the train could come to a complete stop.

Robbins was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the original crash into the guardrail that resulted in the car being struck by the train remains under investigation by the Butler County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.
