Grand jury indicts Columbus man on 7 bank robbery charges

(FOX19) - A federal grand jury has indicted a Columbus man alleging that he robbed seven banks in central and southwestern Ohio between Dec. 28 and Feb. 4, including a Mount Washington bank and a bank in Deerfield Township.

The indictment says that Michael Hay, 30, robbed a PNC Bank in Mount Washington on Dec. 28, a Chase Bank in Bexley on Jan. 7, a First Financial Bank in Huber Heights on Jan. 10, a Chase Bank in Vandalia on Jan. 18, a Huntington Bank in the Dayton area on Jan. 29, a Key Bank in Grove City on Feb. 1, and a Chase Bank in Deerfield Township on Feb. 4.

Grove City Police arrested Hay on Feb. 7.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said each count of bank robbery is punishable by up to 20 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release and restitution.
