Seven people are displaced Thursday after an early morning fire in West Price Hill.
Officials say the fire started in the basement of a home in the 4100 block of Francis Avenue. They arrived on scene around 3 a.m. to find the fire spreading to the second floor and through the wall stud chases.
37 firefighters battled the blaze, taking 30 minutes to extinguish, according to District Fire Chief Gregory Potter. The damage is estimated at $15,000.
The seven people inside the home were alerted to the fire by an operating smoke detector and we able to escape unharmed. They are being assisted by the Red Cross.
Crews were still on the scene at 6 a.m. and fire investigators are trying to determine a cause.
