Stern Vs. FCC

Now Howard Stern vs. the FCC and the FCC chief's dad: Colin Powell

What was Howard Stern versus the FCC is now Stern versus the FCC chief and his dad, Secretary of State Colin Powell. Powell the elder has come to his son Michael's defense after Stern said the Federal Communications Commission chairman got the job because of his famous father. Colin Powell labeled the accusation "just so much nonsense." The younger Powell, a Republican, was appointed to the FCC by President Clinton in 1997. He became chairman when President Bush took office, just after his father was named Secretary of State.

Colin Powell says his son is "an enormously qualified individual" who's served "with great distinction." Stern's raunchy radio show has brought repeated fines by the FCC.
