Dick's Last Resort opens at Newport on the Levee Tuesday

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) -

Dick's Last Resort, a nationally-known bar and restaurant with an outrageous staff, will open at Newport in the Levee on Tuesday.

The restaurant, anchoring the corner of Third and Saratoga streets, is known for its intentionally sarcastic servers who push social boundaries with their fun-loving, tongue-in-cheek shtick with guests.

As "The Joint Yer Mama Warned You About," the customers are insulted, and the waiters hand out adult bibs and large paper hats complete with humorous slogans.

It might sound a little unconventional, but it's all in good fun.

"We are extremely excited about serving and becoming a part of the Newport, Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati community," said Dick's President and Chief Operating Officer Ralph W. McCracken. "When you come to Dick's, you get to experience a very unique dining experience. We call it 'controlled chaos'. Dick's serves great food and drinks, but what we really provide is a 'fun atmosphere' with the opportunity for everyone to eat, drink, laugh and escape reality for a while!"

Dick's Last Resort is already in several tourist destinations, including Panama City, Orlando, Nashville, Gatlinburg, Myrtle Beach, San Diego, San Antonio, Chicago and Las Vegas.

You can order some specialty drinks with names like "Trash Can Punch" and "Killa Rita." The menu features appetizers like Wicked Gator Tail and Motha Cluckin' Good Chicky Wings.

The menu also has barbecue pork ribs, steaks, burgers, seafood, sandwiches, wraps and desserts.
