(FOX19) - Help wanted: An outgoing, engaging person willing to wear makeup and funny clothes who can make people of all ages laugh.
There's a clown shortage in the United States, according to the New York Daily News.
The newspaper reported last month that membership at the World Clown Association, the country's largest trade group for clowns, has fallen from about 3,500 to 2,500 since 2004. That's a 28.5 percent decrease.
LaRena Rose – "Rosie McQueen" from Ringling Bros. And Barnum & Bailey -- will be on Thursday's The Xtra to talk about the clown shortage and an event going on at U.S. Bank Arena at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The program is a free clinic for aspiring clowns and circus performers called "My Nose Turns Red."
Ringling Bros. is at U.S. Bank Arena through Sunday. For performance times and ticket information, click here.
