HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Jackie Terwilleger, Hamilton Township's Fiscal Officer, on Friday abruptly announced her retirement from office.
Terwilleger was serving her sixth year and fourth term as a fiscal officer and was formerly elected to the County Commissioners Seat and served as the County's State Representative.
Hamilton Township released the news of Terwilleger's retirement on Friday, saying it would be effective immediately.
"Hamilton Township would like to thank Ms. Terwilleger for her thirty-four years of dedication to the position and service to the community. We wish Jackie well with her retirement and future endeavors," the release said.
The Township has scheduled a special meeting for Monday to discuss the vacant position and to update Trustees on the status of payroll checks.
State Auditor Dave Yost released the following statement in regards to the news:
"Our office has been working diligently to untangle the township finances. The fiscal officer's resignation does not impact our work, which will continue."
