Former PNC exec pleads guilty to bank robbery

A former bank executive accused of robbing a Key Bank branch appeared in court on Friday.

Scott Runge pled guilty to the February robbery of the Key Bank on Beechmont Avenue. Runge is a former vice president of Equipment Finance at PNC, who was reportedly laid off from his position.

The prosecutors office says Runge, of Anderson Township, told the court he robbed the bank to get cash to pay for a $200-a-day cocaine habit.

Runge was originally charged with aggravated robbery, a second level felony that was reduced to a first level after his admittance. He is set to be sentenced on April 15.
