A small private school in Bullock County is mourning over the loss of a student.

8-year old Cade Hall died Friday night. The Bullock County Sheriff's Department says Hall was driving his 4-wheeler when he apparently made a sharp turn and the ATV fell on him. Hall's mother was riding nearby in a golf cart and apparently witnessed the accident. It happened behind the family home on County Road 55, some 15 miles from Union Springs.

Sheriff Raymond Rodgers says one of his deputies tried to save the little boy. "One of my deputies performed CPR, but Hall died at the hospital," said the sheriff.

The administrator at Conecuh Springs Christian School in Union Springs remembered Hall was being 'studious.'  "Cade was a bright student and he loved to read. He was athletic. It's going to take us awhile for to recover from this," said Mona Padgett.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, more than 100,000 people are injured every year across the country in ATV accidents. Of that figure nearly 30% are children under 16. Records from 2010 show 590 people died from four-wheeler accidents and 82 of them were children under 16. The sheriff says he doesn't Know if Hall was wearing a helmet.

Meantime, a little boy who just turned 8 years old left a lifetime of memories for those knew him.

"He loved God and he knew God was his savior. He was at peace with that,' said Padgett.

Padgett says in the school's 14-year history this is the first time Conecuh Springs Christian School has lost a student.
