One dead, two injured after three vehicle accident in Union, Ky

UNION, KY (FOX19) - A three vehicle traffic collision in Union, Ky claimed the life of one of the drivers and sent two others to area hospitals this morning.

It happened at the intersection of US-25 (Dixie Highway) and Frogtown Road at approximately 7:00 a.m.

Bobby Jones, 26, was northbound on U.S.-25 approaching Frogtown Road traveling in the southbound lane. Richard Taylor, 27, was southbound on U.S.-25 approaching Frogtown Road.

Taylor veered left in an attempt to avoid a collision with Jones but the two side-swiped each other. That impact caused Jones' car to flip onto its top blocking the roadway.

Subsequently, Frank Berry, 62, was traveling northbound on U.S.-25 when he collided with Jones' upside down car in the middle of the road knocking it into a pedestrian, Chelsie Ketron, 30, who had stopped to help and was approaching Jones from the North side of the collision.

Jones was transported to Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, Kentucky where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

Taylor and Ketron were also taken to Saint Elizabeth in Florence.  Taylor has been treated and released.

Ketron was transferred to University Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Berry was uninjured.

Boone County police are investigating this collision.
