Guide to local teams in the NCAA tournament

Here's a quick guide to local teams playing in the NCAA men's basketball tournament.

Xavier

The Musketeers play in one of the First Four games. Xavier is seeded 12th and faces No. 12 seed N.C. State at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday in Dayton, Ohio. The winner faces Midwest region No. 5 seed St. Louis at 7:20 p.m. Thursday in Orlando, Fla.

UC

The Bearcats are a No. 5 seed in the East Region. They play No. 12 seed Harvard at 2:10 p.m. in Spokane, Wash. The winner gets the winner of the game between No. 4 Michigan State and No. 13 seed Delaware. 

Ohio State

The Buckeyes are the No. 6 seed in the South region and play No. 11 seed Dayton at 12:15 p.m. Thursday in Buffalo, N.Y. The winner advances to play the winner of No. 3 seed Syracuse versus No.  14 seed Western Michigan.

Kentucky

The Wildcats earned a No. 8 seed in the Midwest region. They'll play No. 9 seed Kansas State at 9:40 p.m. Friday in St. Louis. The winner will play the winner of the game between No. 1 seed Wichita State and No. 16 seed Cal Poly/No. 16 seed Texas Southern (First Four play-in game 6:40 p.m. Wednesday in Dayton).

Louisville

The defending national champions are the Nov. 4 seed in the Midwest region. The Cardinals play No. 13 seed Manhattan at 9:50 p.m. Thursday in Orlando, Fla. The winner will face the winner of St. Louis/N.C. State/Xavier.

Eastern Kentucky

The Colonels are the No. 15 seed in the South region. They play No. 2 Kansas at 4:10 p.m. Friday in St. Louis. The winner faces the winner of the game between No. 7 seeded New Mexico and No. 10 seeded Stanford.
