Bellevue man charged for Highlands HS bomb threat in January

FORT THOMAS, KY (FOX19) - Fort Thomas Police have made an arrest following a bomb threat at Highlands High School in January.

Administrators at the high school say they received a voicemail reporting a bomb threat on January 15. According to the school's website, administrators received the threat around 7 a.m. The school is located at 2400 Memorial Parkway in Fort Thomas.

The building was immediately evacuated as a precaution and students were moved to Highlands Middle School, which is located adjacent to the high school.

Police responded to conduct a search of the campus. Administrators received the all-clear from authorities by 9 a.m.

Police arrested 20-year-old Tyler Swope of Bellevue on Wednesday, March 19. Swope has been charged with terroristic threatening and reporting a false incident.
