Deadline nears for Obamacare registration; 1.5M Ohioans uninsured

(FOX19) -

The March 31 deadline is nearing to sign up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act. 1.5 million people in Ohio are uninsured, and a local organization is assisting to get those people get covered.

FOX19's Jessica Brown spoke to representatives at Voice of your Customer, where they are assisting local residents with signing up for health insurance.

Representatives say they get many questions about Obamacare, but they are most frequently asked the same thing: If they already have insurance, do they need to purchase the marketplace insurance?

Crystal Kendrick, President of Voice of your Customer, said the answer is no, if a person already has coverage through their employer, through medicare, VA benefits, or a similar scenario, they do not have to purchase insurance through the marketplace plan.

Crystal explained that the marketplace is for individuals who do not have insurance, or would like to explore additional insurance beyond the coverage they already have.
