CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Hamilton County OVI Task Force has announced they will operate a sobriety checkpoint Friday night near the University of Cincinnati.
Officers will hold the checkpoint in the 100 block of East McMillan Street. The site was chosen through a site selection process that focuses on the frequency and severity of the impaired driving problem in the area.
Since January 1, 2013, Cincinnati police officers have arrested 87 drivers for operating a vehicle while impaired (OVI) near the checkpoint location. During the same time period, 69 OVI-related crashes occurred, one of which resulted in a serious injury.
Checkpoint operations will begin at 9:00 p.m. and end at 1:00 a.m.
