Derrick Moore, 31, is charged with criminal homicide and aggravated robbery.
Police say he shot 22-year-old Spencer Beasley in retaliation for a previous incident.
Moore has previous convictions for theft, assault and gambling.
He was arrested on Monday during a vehicle stop on 44th Avenue North and is being held on a $250,000 bond.
