Pest control employee accused of stealing from businesses

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A Nashville pest control employee has been charged with theft after police say he was stealing from his clients.

FlexSol Packaging Corp. in East Nashville and U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company in downtown Nashville have come forward accusing the employee of taking tools from their properties.

After an investigation that spanned several months, police arrested James Lane, an employee of McCloud Pest Control.

Police say Lane was caught on surveillance video at one of the businesses going back and forth with a duffel bag from the area where the tools went missing.

Tools from one of the businesses were pawned at a local shop.

The missing tools are estimated to be worth about $8,000.

Lane was charged with felony theft on Monday night.
