The Bengals' bosses hit Orlando this week with a very obvious plan.

And that's to tell everyone they want Andy Dalton to stay.

Mike Brown and Marvin Lewis are at the NFL meetings in Florida. And both say they want their quarterback to sign a contract extension before the season.

"I think he's done a really good job and will continue to get better until he proves he won't," Lewis said. "He's done for the most part what we've asked the quarterback to do and that's take care of the offense.

"We put a lot on our quarterback and take care of the ball. We are only as good as our last time out when we lost that game so everybody feels that way right now, unfortunately."

This is the final year of Dalton's 4-year deal.

The Bengals selected Dalton in the second round of the 2011 NFL draft out of Texas Christian. He was the 35th overall pick.

The Bengals reached the playoffs in each of Dalton's three seasons but lost in the Wild Card game in those years. The Bengals were Wild Card team in 2011 and 2012. The team won the AFC North in 2013.
