CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Friends and family of an Ursuline Academy student killed in a car last October will run in a 5k in her memory.

Jordan Hoak, 16, passed away in a car crash on Western Row Road at Lexington Park Drive. Hoak's friends described her as loving and "the ultimate volunteer."

Hoaks friends and family will be running together in a group called Miles for Smiles. All funds will go toward St. Vincent de Paul's food pantries, charitable pharmacy, Bob Rahe Mattress Fund, the Ozanam Retreat Center and homeless prevention.

Hoak's friends tell FOX19 that she made a lasting impression on the hearts of the St. Vincent de Paul staff during her recent retreat at the Ozanam Center for Service Learning.

After Hoak passed away, her friends and mother volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul to honor her and keep her legacy of service alive.

The 5k run is this Saturday, March 29 at Sawyer Point. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the run/walk starts at 9:00 a.m.

FOX19's Jacki Jing will also be the emcee at the event.
