(FOX19) - The author calls it the only book ever published about this rivalry.
And get this, it hit bookstores just this month and just weeks before Friday's next chapter.
Co-author Ryan Clark is from here and says publishers didn't green light the idea until Louisville won the national title in men's basketball last season.
Clark and co-author Joe Cox have written "Fightin' Words: Kentucky vs. Louisville." The book has a foreword by legendary Louisville coach Denny Crum.
"We thought that they were going to roll out the red carpet for us and they were really interested in the UK angle but they were like 'we don't know about this Louisville team,'" said Clark, a former reporter with The Kentucky Enquirer.
"And, you know, as a UK fan as much as it hurt me to see Louisville win the title, at least then something good came out of it. We were able to publish this book."
As for that next chapter, it's one of the best games of this year's Sweet 16. No. 4 seed Louisville faces No. 8 seed Kentucky in the Midwest Regional semifinal at 9:45 p.m. Friday in Indianapolis.
Kentucky defeated Louisville in the 2012 Final Four en route to the national championship.
