HARTWELL, OH (FOX19) - A fire in a two-family home in Hartwell has left three adults and five children displaced.
Crews received multiple calls of a working fire on the first floor of the Sheehan Road home around 9 p.m. Upon arrival, the fire was quickly moving to the second floor, according to the district fire chief.
Witnesses on scene said firefighters battled the blaze from the ground level after electrical wire made it impossible for them to use ladder trucks.
Flames were reportedly shooting up from the house sporadically and ten fire companies were called to assist.
All of the occupants escaped safely and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Damage has been estimated at $80,000.
