Former Crisp County ace Robert Tyler continues to show why he was one of the most heralded pitchers in the Georgia high school ranks in 2013.
The Georgia Bulldog righty was named the SEC Freshman of the Week Monday, his second time earning the honor this season.
The former Cougar pitched eight scoreless innings Saturday night in a 6-1 win over #22 Texas A&M. Tyler struck out six to earn his first career SEC victory.
He is 2-2 on the season, and leads the Dawgs with a 1.54 ERA.
Tyler is scheduled to take the mound again Saturday afternoon at Missouri.
