Canes stun #2 Lander with series win

Things have not been great for the GSW Hurricanes on the baseball diamond in 2014.

They entered Monday's rubber match with #2 Lander dead last in the Peach Belt standings.

Those standings did not matter Monday, as the Canes rallied late, then won the series on a walk-off walk, 8-7.

GSW scored three runs over the final two innings to pick up their fourth win in five games.

Evan Alderman extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a three-hit performance Monday. Stephen Eldridge added three hits and two RBI of his own.

GSW scored two in eighth inning to tie the ballgame, before Josh Sanders drew a bases loaded walk with one out in the ninth to win the game.

GSW improves to 9-20 overall and 5-13 in PBC play.

The Canes are back in action Wednesday when they host Albany State. First pitch is at 6:00 p.m.
