CRISP CO. 6, WORTH CO. 1

Junior Stewart Tyler struck out 12 in six dominant innings as the Crisp County Cougars moved to 10-0 in Region 1-AAAA play, beating Worth County 6-1 Tuesday night.

The Rams were also unbeaten in region play entering Tuesday's game, and drop to 7-1.

Tyler gave up two hits and an unearned run to get the win.

Worth's Austin Dorough did his best to duel with Tyler, giving up six hits and one earned run in 4.1 innings.

However, four Ram errors allowed five unearned runs.

Whit Campbell went 2-4 with run and RBI to lead the Cougars at the plate.

Both teams are on the road next Monday. Crisp travels to Hardaway, while Worth plays at Baconton.

CAIRO 13, MONROE 2

Cairo jumped out to an 8-0 lead after three innings on their way to a 13-2 run-rule win.

The game was called in the sixth, with the Syrupmakers ahead by 11.

Cairo improves to 7-2 in region play with the win. Monroe drops to 2-4.

The Syrupmakers will host Dougherty next Monday. The Tornadoes host Terrell County Wednesday.
