CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

Hundreds came out to the Metro Richmond Zoo to see the cheetah cubs make their public debut.

Zoo officials say around 1,500 came out Tuesday to see Lana with her cubs Richie, Rico, Chester, Amelia, and Hanna go on display. While about half that number were scheduled to show up for a field trip well in advance of the decision to display the cubs, officials estimate attendance was up by 300 to 400 Tuesday. They say the turnout Wednesday has been even higher.

The cubs were prepared for the move last week and have adjusted will to their move, according to zoo officials. The Cheetah Cam was shut down Friday and the cubs are adapting well to their new area, according to the zoo.
