KSU: Suspect apprehended off campus, police say no longer a threat

KENT, OH (WOIO) -

Kent State University informs us that the suspect in the shooting incident has been arrested off campus. Police say there is no longer a threat. 

Reports of a shot fired near Bowman Hall on the Kent State University Main Campus came in around 8:48 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2.

Kent State's Twitter account read: Main Campus: Report of a shot fired near Bowman Hall. Officers in area. Stay away from area. If in area, seek shelter until further notice.

Students and instructors in Bowman Hall barricaded themselves in their classrooms with tables.

The campus was on lockdown until about 11 p.m.

In a press conference, authorities also said there was blood found at the scene but they continue to report that there aren't any injuries. 

There will be another press conference at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3. Officials will give more information on the suspect then.
