A 27-year-old man is dead following an early morning crash in the east end.
Officials say Eric Hodge lost control on Columbia Parkway near Bains Street around 2:30 a.m. Hodge drove down and embankment and crashed his Honda Civic into a tree, according to authorities.
Hodge was transported to UC Medical Center where he later died from his injuries. Authorities say he was not wearing a seatbelt and that speed appears to be a factor in the crash.
Bains Street was closed for two hours following the accident while investigations were conducted. Cincinnati Traffic Unit asks any witnesses to the crash to call 513-352-2514.
