(FOX19) - Corbin, a much-traveled pooch, is finally home in Texas with his family.

The chiweenie arrived just before 10 p.m. Central time Wednesday after a long journey from the Tri-State.

The dog was found abandoned Saturday tied to a bench at a animal shelter in Hamilton, nearly 1,000 miles away from home.

The ordeal started March 25 when his owners say the dog dug under their backyard fence in Killeen, Texas. Three days later, he was at the Butler County Animal Friends Humane Society.

Killeen is about 160 miles southwest of Dallas.
