You can just call the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes the streak busters after the week they've just had.
GSW has won three of it's last four games, ending two long winning streaks along the way.
This past weekend, the Canes took two of three from the #2 Lander Bearcats, who came to Americus on a nine-game win streak.
On Wednesday, freshman pitcher Zach Smith quieted the Albany State bats, as Southwestern snapped the Rams ten-game streak.
The Hurricanes still find themselves near the bottom of the Peach Belt standings, but head coach Bryan McLain says winning these games proves his guys are still fighting
"It's just a credit to their hard work and diligence and staying with it, and not giving up on it," he says. "I'm extremely proud of them, and hopefully we can keep this going."
The Canes are on the road Friday to begin a three-game weekend series with Young Harris. GSW will be looking to cool off another squad, as the Mountain Lions have won eight of their last nine.
