J. Gumbo's offers authentic Cajun cuisine for spicy food lovers

(FOX19) - Cajun restaurant J. Gumbos serves authentic Louisiana food right here in the Tri-State.

Manager Brittany Bishop and co-owner Kim Lester stopped FOX19 to make their famous Lafitte Burrito Bowl and their new homemade bread pudding.

The burrito bowl is made with their Bumblebee Stew and VooDoo Chicken, served over a flour tortilla, topped with cheddar cheese and sour cream.

Other popular menu items include:

Gumbo - Home-style soup with deep brown roux, onions, chicken, smoked sausage and rice.

Bourbon Street Chicken - Tender chicken glazed with a slightly sweet butter hoisin sauce. Served over rice.

Drunken Chicken - Tender chicken, olive oil, garlic & stewed tomatoes cooked in beer and Cajun spices. Served over rice.

Crawfish Etoufee – A  creamy golden roux served with celery, onions and pepper. Choose crawfish or shrimp. Served over rice.

VooDoo Chicken - Tender chicken cooked with garlic & olive oil in a SPICY tomato sauce. Served over rice.

White Chili - Cajun white bean chili with stewed tomatoes, onions, cilantro, jalapeno peppers & a hint of dill. Served with rice.

J. Gumbo's is located on 286 Ludlow Avenue. There hours are:

Monday – Thursday:  11 a.m. – 3 a.m.

Friday - Saturday:  11 a.m. – 4 a.m.

Sunday:  12 p.m. – 12 a.m.
