CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Dozens of temporary sculptures adorn Washington Park in downtown Cincinnati. All of the sculptures are made from recycled materials.
Produced by 3CDC, EcoSculpt is a three-week installation comprised of original sculptures made of recycled and/or recyclable materials in celebration of Earth Day. The event gives artists a chance to design and display large-scale, eco-friendly sculptures at Washington Park.
Washington Park patron Tracy McClorey says the new installments fit well in the community.
"This is a people's park. There's allot of diversity, that's why I come here," says McClorey. "They're reusing things and this community is about people coming together."
Artists will also have the opportunity to win cash prizes. Three judges will choose first, second and third prize winners based on concept, execution and construction. Cash prizes of $500, $250 and $150, as well as a People's Choice prize of $100, will be awarded at the EcoSculpt Award Ceremony on Tuesday, April 22, beginning at 5 p.m.
People's Choice Award voting is now open. Visit www.WashingtonPark.org for additional details or to cast your vote.
