COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Four people, including two teenagers, were arrested in connection to several aggravated armed robberies reported in Colerain Township.
Edna Liban, 20, Justice Grant, 19, and two juveniles were all charged with three counts of robbery and three counts of aggravated robbery. Police said the suspects took cash from victims on March 25 and 26 after posting fake ads on Craigslist that offered a cell phone for sale.
Authorities said the victims arranged to buy the phone and when they arrived at the agreed upon location, the suspects robbed the victims at gunpoint.
As a result, detectives with the Colerain Police Department Criminal Investigative Unit arranged to meet the suspects and set up surveillance in the area in an attempt to arrest them for the previous robberies.
Police said when the undercover detective arrived, two of the suspects got into his vehicle and one of them pointed a loaded .45 gun at the detective's head. According to police, the detective got out of the car and the armed suspect fled, who then ran into another Colerain police detective.
Authorities said the suspect pointed the gun at the second officer, which forced him to shoot the suspect in the hand.
After a further investigation, four suspects were located and arrested. Hearings are scheduled to determine if the two juveniles will be tried as adults.
