Newport music festival to raise money to fight heroin

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) -

NKY Hates Heroin, six venues in Newport and 14 local bands are joining to fight the heroin epidemic by holding a music festival at 6 p.m. Saturday.

A ticket to get into all six venues costs $10. Raffles tickets and www.NKYHatesHeroin.com T-shirts will be sold.

The lineup includes:

York Street Café: The Chuck Land Band, Grand Oversoul, Honey And Houston, The Core and Eva Ross

Little Nashville: Marty Connor Band and the Carter New Band

Sis': Devoto & Dave Webster and Friends

Birk's: Nailed It J.R.'s Revenge and Altered Inc.

Mokka And The Sunset Bar & Grill: Don Fangman (Frank Sinatra impersonator) and Stonehaus Trail

Shortneck's: Bands to be announced

The proceeds will be given to NKY Hates Heroin, an organization dedicated to heroin education and prevention, as well as providing recovery to addicts. Visit www.NKYHatesHeroin.com for more information.
