The Reds coughed up a 4 run lead to the Cardinals Tuesday night to fall to 1-4 on the road this season.
The Reds jumped St. Louis with three runs in the first, including a two-run Jay Bruce triple, and added another run in the second on a Billy Hamilton RBI single.
But, the Cardinals responded with a game tying 4-run frame in the bottom of the second sparked by a Yadi Molina home run.
The Cardinals scored three times off the Reds bullpen to beat the Reds for a second straight day and the fourth time in five match-ups this season.
Homer Bailey allowed 9 hits and 4 earned runs in the start and finished with a no decision.
The loss falls on Logan Ondrusek who gave up a game changing two-run double to Matt Holliday in the 6th inning.
Devin Mesoraco returned to the Reds line-up and played his first game of the season. He finished with two double and scored a run.
The loss drops the Reds to 2-6 on the season and remain in last place in the NL Central.
The Reds and Cardinals finish the three game series in St. Louis on Wednesday before the Reds come home to GABP for a weekend series with Tampa Bay.
