INDIAN HILL, OH (FOX19) - The cause of the massive Indian Hill mansion fire in January is undetermined, the state fire marshal said Wednesday.
By law, the fire marshal had to determine the cause 90 days after the fire. That deadline is Thursday.
Because 90 percent of the 22 room home burned, officials say they are still unable to determine the cause of the fire or where it even started.
The state fire marshal's office says that while they are required to rule a cause within 90 days, it's not unusual for them to rule the cause undetermined, and then continue investigations. Officials say that is what will happen in this case.
Flames and smoke were so high that the fire was reportedly seen as far as Milford and Loveland. Officers say at one point flames were more than 30 feet high.
The 10,000 square feet home on Cunningham road was valued at more than $4 million and was built by the Decker family in 2006.
