Man leads Colerain Twp. police on chase, arrested after dog bite

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A 44-year-old man has been arrested after leading Colerain Township police on a chase following a minor crash.

Police say that Alonzo White, 44, was involved in a minor crash on Wednesday afternoon in the 7900 block Colerain Avenue. White fled the scene of the accident.

Officers responding to scene say they saw White fleeing in a Lexus. Police claim White cut through side streets and struck three cars at Colerain Avenue and Banning Road. Authorities say that White also cut through several back yards during the chase.

White continued to elude officers southbound on Colerain Avenue. His vehicle came to a halt following a crash in the 5800 block of Colerain Avenue.

At this point, officers say White jumped out of his car and fled down Roberts Avenue in Mt. Airy. While running from officers, police say he was bitten by a small dog.

Police were able to catch up with White a short time after. He was arrested and taken to the hospital to be treated for the dog bite.

Officers say White was driving a 2003 Lexus that did not belong to him. Police are searching for the owner of the vehicle.
