A former Moeller teacher and religious brother will stand trial in Australia for sexual abuse of minors.
Brother Bernard Hartman taught at Moeller from 1965 to 1970. The charges were filed in Australia after former students in the country claimed Hartman sexually abused them in the 1970s and 1980s.
Moeller President Bill Hunt and The Marianists Province addressed the charges in a letter to all alumni who attended the school during Hartman's five year tenure.
"If Brother Hartman abused anyone while he was at Moeller High School, we want to know so we can offer an opportunity for healing those harmed," the letter, written by Father Martin Solma of the Marianists congregation, said.
Hartman is scheduled to stand trial in Melbourne in 2015.
