Man vandalizes police station, breaks into Woodlawn house

WOODLAWN, OH (FOX19) - A man who was arrested for burglarizing a Woodlawn home was found by police to be the suspect of an additional crime – vandalizing the Woodlawn Police Station.

Mark Montgomery on April 11 broke the window of a Riddle Road home and attempted to enter. The resident caught Montgomery and fired one shot at him, upon which Montgomery fled the scene.

Montgomery was later picked up and arrested. No one was severely injured in the incident, but authorities reported finding blood outside the home.

Earlier in the day on April 11, Montgomery allegedly uprooted a sign in front of the station and then used it to damage the building's front door, according to police documents. Thanks to surveillance video, authorities recognized him after he was picked up for the home burglary.

Montgomery was arraigned Saturday morning and is being held on a $20,000 bond.
