OAKLEY, OH (FOX19) -

Construction will start next month on a new apartment complex in Oakley, developer Buckingham Cos. said Tuesday.

The development includes seven three-story buildings housing 272 apartments. The apartment complex will be located between Madison Road, Cardiff Avenue and Ridge Avenue.

Plans also call for direct access to the Madison Road pedestrian bridge which will connect the development to the Oakley Station development and downtown Oakley.

Construction is expected to be completed by summer 2015.

"We're thrilled to begin work in Oakley and we look forward to joining this great neighborhood," said John Cumming, senior vice president of development operations for Buckingham Cos. "We are grateful for the Oakley Community Council's vision and we're committed to providing a great space that complements Oakley's character and charm."

Craig Rozen, the community council's president, said the council looks "forward to this development as a crucial and exciting addition that will foster increased livability, walkability and residency within our neighborhood."
