Rantankerous: Is drafting a QB early really a good idea?

Rantankerous [ran-tank'uhr-us] (adjective) - A combination of rant [to speak in a wild or extravagant manner] and cantankerous [contentious, disagreeable]. The word is the only suitable description for the arguments between Brian "What We Learned" Tynes and George "Hot Reads" Jones.

(RNN) – Everything you know about catching a fly ball is wrong.

In this week's edition, we lament days gone by (i.e. the last 100-plus years) when a catch was a catch and an out was an out before Major League Baseball's new transfer rule rendered the most basic baseball knowledge obsolete.

The reason for the new scandal, of course, is instant replay, which gets a thorough lashing to kick off this week's debates.

But the sparks really start flying about the 15-minute mark when George says those two magic words: "Johnny Manziel."

The NFL draft kicks off in a couple of weeks and everywhere you look the debate about who should take Manziel and where is flying around. George is an advocate of taking the flashiest guy you can find and putting butts in the seats, even if it means needing to draft another QB in three years while Brian thinks the risk is too great and teams are better off without quarterbacks – or something like that, it wasn't really clear.

And just so the NBA doesn't get its feelings hurt, its playoffs – which start Saturday – get an obligatory nod. Could this be the Clippers' year? We hope so.
