A suspect is in custody for allegedly stabbing a man on Sunday afternoon in downtown.

Larry Smith ,33, told FOX19 he was talking with his friend near the courthouse on Main Street when the suspect approached him. After a verbal altercation, the suspect threatened a knife.

"He pulled out his knife and just stabbed me in my chest. And that was it," said Smith. He was treated for the wound and released on scene.

FOX19 cameras were there when authorities, with guns drawn, approached the suspect at 819 Main Street. He was then arrested without incident and taken away in an ambulance.

Smith identified the suspect for authorities, but said he did not know him personally. He told FOX19 that he plans to press charges.
