CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati is gearing up to host its largest running event of the year, the Flying Pig Marathon.
The iconic event will attract more than 35,000 runners and 150,000 spectators.
Security is expected to be tight this year with SWAT and undercover officers. Officials say participants and attendees will not be allowed to bring their own bags to the event. Instead, they'll be provided with clear plastic bags.
The following rules will be enforced:
- No backpacks.
- No closed bags.
- Only clear plastic bags.
- Leave extra items in car.
As for Streetcar construction, officials say it will be stopped during the race events and will not change the route.
