Swoop's Stoop allows Miami athletes to help sick children

Swoop's Stoop

(FOX19) - Jess Hoover of Miami University track and field and Sennett Cooke of Miami's synchronized skating, will be on Tuesday's The Xtra to talk about Swoop's Stoop, a charity at the university.

Former Miami hockey goalie Cody Reichard created the charity starting in the 2010-2011 hockey season as an effort to help sick children at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

The program's goal is to provide an experience to sick children that they wouldn't normally get because most of their time is spent hospitalized.

Miami's hockey team hosts different groups of children at home games. Varsity student-athletes visit children at the hospital.
