Officers shoot, kill suspect in South Lebanon standoff

SOUTH LEBANON, OH (FOX19) - Police say that a 56-year-old man is dead following an officer involved shooting during a standoff situation in South Lebanon.

Warren County Tactical Response Units were called to the 4800 block of Lebanon Road shortly before 5 p.m. Monday.

Deputies say that Gary Cook, 56, threatened uniform officers attempting to serve a domestic violence protection order. Cook barricaded himself inside the residence with at least one firearm.

Authorities say that Cook was the subject of the court order and was required to leave the residence after relatives petitioned the court.

Police say Cook was shot by officers after he took aggressive action. Cook was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers have been placed on paid administrative leave following the incident. The incident is currently under investigation.
