Police make arrest in January kidnapping, aggravated robbery case

MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) - A 40-year-old man has been arrested following a kidnapping and armed robbery in Middletown on January 25.

Authorities say a 56-year-old woman was using an ATM machine at US Bank on Roosevelt Boulevard when a man approached her with a gun demanding cash. The suspect then forced the woman in to her car at gunpoint and ordered her to drive away.

The woman drove about a mile before the suspect exited her vehicle in the 1500 block of Jackson Lane, fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Following an extensive investigation, officers identified the suspect as 40-year-old Gary Lee Keith of Trenton, Ohio.

Keith was arrested on Friday. He has been charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping. Keith is currently being held in the Middletown city jail.
