BOONE COUNTY, KY (FOX19) - Funeral arrangements have been set for Samantha Ramsey, the 19-year-old girl who was shot and killed by a Boone County deputy on Saturday.
Deputy Tyler Brockman was on another call on River Road before investigating a field party further down the road where Ramsey was located.
Police say Brockman ended up on the hood of Ramsey's car, feared for his life and fired four rounds through the windshield. Ramsey was transported to Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, Ky. where she was pronounced dead.
Ramsey was a pre-school teacher at Children's Inc. and a 2013 graduate of Covington Holmes High School.
Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. on May 2 at the First Baptist Church, located at 400 Linden Street. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on May 3 at the church.
Boone County Sheriff Michael A. Helmig has ordered a full investigation on this incident and placed Brockman on administrative leave, which is standard for these investigations.
