Man in serious condition after Sayler Park crash

SAYLER PARK, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati Police are investigating a serious injury auto accident Wednesday where a man was trapped.

The accident happened at approximately 12:17 p.m. in the 6300 block of River Road.

Wilton Rose, 78, was operating a 2010 Buick Lacrosse from east on River Road to north on Revere Avenue. Police said Rose failed to yield to oncoming traffic and struck a 1995 Plymouth Neon driven west on River Road by Albert Kassow, 49.

Kassow's vehicle rotated and struck a 2013 Kia Optima that was driven by Jered Sutherland, 32. Sutherland was south on Revere Avenue stopped at a stop sign.

Firefighters had to extricate Kassow from his vehicle. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he is listed in serious condition. Police said he was not wearing his seat belt.

Rose sustained minor injuries and was taken to The Christ Hospital. He was treated and released. He was wearing his seat belt.

Sutherland, wearing his seat belt, was not hurt.

Police said speed and alcohol don't appear to be factors in the crash.

Witnesses are asked to call police at 513-352-2514.
