LOCKLAND, OH (FOX19) - Officers say that a Liberty Township woman was charged with her second OVI offense after leading police on a short chase with her 3-year-old son in the car.
Lockland Police received reports that a gray Ford Escape had left the scene of an accident around 5:40 p.m. Thursday. Cincinnati Police say the vehicle was last seen traveling northbound on I-75 near I-74.
Lockland Police say they were able to locate the vehicle in question in the area of I-75 near Sheperd Lane. Authorities attempted to stop the vehicle and the suspect fled from officers.
Authorities say that the vehicle eventually stopped after eluding officers for nearly one mile.
Stephanie Willenborg, 30, was taken into custody. Officers say she was obviously under the influence of alcohol. Police say that Willenborg's 3-year-old son was found in the vehicle and was visibly frightened. An open container was also found in the car.
It was later found that Willenborg also struck a barrier in Lockland in addition to the vehicle in Cincinnati.
Willenborg has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired, child endangerment, fleeing and eluding officers, having an open container in a motor vehicle and failure to maintain control.
The child was taken to the Lockland Police Department where he was turned over to family members.
Officers say Willenborg was previously convicted of a DUI back in 2007.
